AM- Easy 5 by my lonesome. Felt really good to be running after a little break for swim state.

PM- 20x200 hitting mile pace in the rain! Missing most of the girls but running with coach was fun haha.. I felt super awesome the whole workout but even more awesome the last 4! 

6000 Meter swim with the team also in the rain :) Mostly stretch out yardage but at the end we did 4x( 3x100 hard with 200 recovery) I felt so so good on the last set of 3 and finally felt like my stroke was normal so that was a huge confidence booster coming off of a crappy state meet. 

Today was a little hard with everyone asking about swim state but Coach gave me some good advice during the workout to just let it go and use it to work harder so that's what I'm going to do. I am going to kill the North American Championships and show those girls that I'm a force to be reckoned with. :)

AM- swim team! I wore my red suit in honor of Valentine's day and it was the best practice ever! Coach showed up a little late so Molly and I got to write the warm-up too! So we obviously did 14x100 and 14x50 but then coach added another 1400 ;) after warm-up we had a 500 pacing set and I CRUSHED that workout. I was hitting some super fast 100 times and I felt so strong. My stroke was holding up and I felt good! After practice i ran to wally world to get some Valentine's gifts and accidentally came home with Easter candy... whoops. But I'm supa pumped for the track workout today and I have a massage!

PM- track today was good for all the girls! Our workout was harder than usual with our new paces for this season but all the girls really pulled together and had an awesome workout. ALSO I saw a double rainbow ;)

I got a massage after the run and it was AMAZING. I feel so much better now it's not even funny.

AM- hour and a half Bike workout on the trainer! 30x1min zone 4 and 10x30s all out. I felt strong and I can't wait to see how I do at the crit race this weekend with the men!

PM- Easy 4 mile run with the girls talking about boys and valentines day :) It's always a good time with our girls team

Easy swim today to recover from yesterdays workout and get ready for tomorrow morning! 

It was a pretty uneventful day other than some funny moments in physics!

AM- Swim team! Had a super long warm up and it was freaking awesome because almost no one showed up so I got my own lane! We did some 200s of threshold and I was keeping up with the girls that were using paddles and I wasn't using them, it was awesome!

PM- we were supposed to run on the track but the soccer tournament kicked us off so we ran by the spectrum instead. We had 1000s and 4x1 minutes and 30s sprints! I felt like the girls were really working well together!

AM- Easy-ich swim with the team! I love swimming with them and coach Shawn was being super funny and joking around with us so it was super fun :)

PM- 3-hour bike ride with a 35-minute crit in the middle with the Cat 5 men. I ended up taking 6th which was awesome but freaking Adam beat me again lol. I took control of the group for a little bit which was sick and I was flying through the corners. We ended up riding 14.4 miles in 35 minutes and that's an average speed of 25mph which is pretty speedy because the course was really hilly. Now onto a date with THE Evan Boyer

AM- Swim team, long warm up and threshold with some Speedplay. I felt a little off but I think it's just because it was the first workout of the week and it'll be okay tomorrow :) 6miles with the girls on prospector! It started snowing so hard when we cut onto church rocks and it was so beautiful! I wish I had had my camera! I've also never run in the snow before so that was a new experience too:) we had some good conversation on the run and got some hot cocoa after, it was a good morning:)

2hour nap whoops

PM- Bike inside on the trainer, with the main workout to simulate the bike pack and anticipating breakaways. Included some 30second sprints at 300watts that just about killed me.

Overall a pretty productive day! :)

I'm a noob and accidentally slept through my alarm so I didn't get to swim.... whoops PM- 6mile workout with a progression run and 200 finishes and 300 progressions. This was our first workout split into out race groups so I was with Lily repping the 800/1600 girls lol. Overall a good workout

Am- Swim meet all freaking day lol. I was at the pool from 7-1 and then 4-9:30.... but I swam the 200free, 50free and the 400im. I haven't been hitting the best times but I think it's because instead of swimming 2 times a day every day I've been swimming once a day to accommodate my tri training so it's all good. I made it back to finals in the 200 and that was cool :)

AM- first swim practice with susa since Sarasota. Not too hard in prep for this week. PM- skipped school today to train with the university of Utah's tri team. Did a bike warm-up up the nemesis at sand hollow and then did a bike workout. It's nice to see my improvement from last time I did that workout. Track- killer workout in prep for this weekend. So pumped to get out there and run in circles again :) This is the first week I'm putting on here since before Sarasota. Just didn't want to overthink anything before and after the race.

I only had one workout today!!! First time in forever that that's happened and man did it feel good.

Track- 400's at race pace with a 800 and finishes. I'm so ready for this weekend it's not even funny! I have two workouts tomorrow in prep so that should be good!

Also in case anyone actually reads this- the great British baking show is AMAZING. Like so funny and I basically binge watched a whole season over the past 4 days so that's fine lol. Anyways that's all

AM- Swim with BAM. 1k time trial which was pretty decent but not great. I was a total noob and showed up late because I thought it started at 8 but it was actually 7 so that was wonderful. 

PM- 4 easy with the girls and then some finishes on the team with our spikes on. We have so many girls pushing up to run with the gold group right now and it makes me so excited for this season!

First race tomorrow and I'm SUPER pumped :) ready to see some hard work pay off!!! Go Lady THUNDER! <3

All I had on my schedule today was the PV Track meet! 

I went to precalc, then went home and packed then headed over to the meet at 11:45. I did my normal warmup and spent the whole time trying to find Bailey and Sam because I was a noob and lost them...  anyways, the race wasn't perfect but it was just what I needed to break off the ice of not racing and get out there and run fast. I went a 5:18 and I'm definitely happy with that! Sometimes I get nervous to push up in races when I'm running with certain people because I feel like I shouldn't be running in front of them. It's classic imposter syndrome I know but something I just have to get past I guess. Onwards and Upwards!

Ran the 800 today and it was awesome!! I had told myself to just go out there, take a risk and run fast because why not and it paid off! I qualified for state and took second! I felt like I ran a smart race and it always feels good to PR! Now onto another solid week of training next week :)

AM- Struggled to get up this morning but did it and got to am swim bright and early. There's nothing like getting up at 4:30 to go jump in a cold pool for two hours. 

PM- Super hard workout time wise and mentally. 2-mile warmup and 12x400 at different paces. My times were suuuper speedy and it kinda scared me but my first four were super solid. Then I started slowly dropping my pace but all of the girls were a little off today. Coach adjusted the times and almost all of us finished the workout alive which is a feat in itself haha. 

Went home and got about 30 minutes of some good strength work in.

Also just so the blogiverse knows it may or may not be my 17th birthday Wednesday ;)

AM-  accidentally missed morning swim but it's my birthday so it was fine :) 

Went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast with my parents for my birthday and it was soo good. Then I went to school. Lily got me the sweetest present ever! She's so amazing and my best friend <3 

PM- Went to track and did a dope track workout. The 800's weren't so hard that we were dying but they were still a push so it was perfect! Also, we had an impromptu dancing party on the track to Dancing Queen by ABBA for a certain someone's birthday ;) 

THEN I went to swim and hung out with all those kids while getting a solid workout!

Went and got day of birth Ice cream with lily Lauren and Sam and had a good ol time. 

Honestly it was one of the best birthdays I've ever had :)

AM- Swim team. Warmup and a threshold set. I really pushed it and found the groove of my stroke early on. Really happy with how it's holding up and my fitness in the water.

PM- Track workout in the winds of the desert lol. 16 min progression with some 400s at the end. I felt pushed but not dead so I think overall it was a good day of workouts. My stomach is giving me some trouble at the moment so we'll see how that transfers into tomorrow. Overall a solid day of training to start the week.

Race in Henderson at the Rage Triathlon! Went out looking for a strong swim and I definitely got it! I felt awesome and came out of the water first! I stayed in first until after the bike turnaround and then the first place guy came and passed me :( I could definitely feel my leg fatigue from the mile yesterday but I ended up taking first! Super excited and ready to start this last week of good training before Richmond!

RACE RECON DAY!!!

20 minute run with 2x20s at 80%

Then 3 loops of the bike course with some intensity out of the hairpin turn and some transition practice

Then a swim in the nasty pond! Pumped to have the opportunity to race tomorrow and that Mitch my teammate is here too! Now we have the race meeting and then a good night's sleep for tomorrows early race! I GOT THIS!!

RACE REPORT!!

Swim-I was number 57 of 77 to pick spots but that was okay with me. They messed up the start and instead of having us in the water pushing off they started us from the side and no one was ready for it! I was fixing my goggles waiting to jump in when the horn went off! So my goggles filled up but I was still able to come out of the water 15th so one of my best swims yet!

Bike- led the chase pack on the bike and tried to bridge the gap to the leaders but couldn't quite get there.

Run- ran my way from 9th to 6th!

I ended up qualifying for pan Americans in Brazil and the youth Olympic games trials in equador!

Congratulations on your race. I enjoyed reading your race report.

I just watched my first triathlon. They held the ITU Yokohama Triathlon here in the city where I am living. It was so exciting to watch.

took my AP test and then chilled at home until I went over to Dixie! went a 2:21 low in the 800 and took second so not too shabby for racing 3 days after a sprint triathlon and a full day of flying! Lily qualified for state too! so proud of her!

IM BACK!! 

AM- Swim at East Canyon! The water was absolutely beautiful and blue and not too cold. We did some steady swimming, some tempo/threshold, and some races! Overall it was a super good push. 1:30 in the lake.

After the swim, we got straight on the bike and rode down to Morgan. On our way back up the canyon, we did 20 minutes of 3 minutes threshold echelon and one-minute recovery. The last two sets were soo hard but I pushed all the way to the end! Overall it was 1:30 of biking.

PM- Easy 30 minutes on the alter g and 10 minutes of core before my massage. Tomorrow will be a big day so now it's time to recover!

AM- Swim at Olympus! Wasnt super hard but there were definitely some good pushes in there. Did some sprint 50s and hit a 28 on fatigued legs and arms!

PM- TT up Emigration Canyon. Did about 27 miles total and I actually did really well. After descending and getting back to our cars we did some race pace run efforts. I did 3x800 efforts at race pace so 5:30-6:00 pace. Was really hard to hit that time but I did it!

Started the race strong and maybe a touch fast. Bailey, Sam, Lauren and I all ran together again but I think we were a little nervous to go get those lone peak girls so early in and I think that's something we can work on. about 800 to go I got a little behind our girls again. It's really frustrating because I run the whole race with our girls and I have a hard time closing out the third mile as my fastest mile. I need to work on that. But overall it was a super positive race - we took second behind lp and I had a HUGE course pr!

REGION CROSS!!! Last one of my HIGH SCHOOL CAREER! 

I felt kinda tight on the warmup so I was a little nervous getting up to the line, and I took it out fast. I hate getting boxed in so I just went for it. It was one of the hardest races I've raced mentally in a while. I kept doubting myself during the race. I was able to hang in there even after some of the cedar and hurricane girls gained on me. I outran one of the hurricane girls right at the end and I was super proud of that. I ended up 6th which is the best i've ever placed at region I think but not exactly where I wanted to be. I have big goals for state this year and it's all going to come down to me believing in myself. I know I have the physical capacity to accomplish my goals but I need to believe I can race against these other great girls. I am so ready to crush it!

Ran the backside of little black mountain this morning with bailey and madi and the boys that showed up. It was so fun to just get out there and have fun. We went out 2.5 and got to the petroglyphs and stopped there to look around for a sec. That sec turned into 30 minutes... whoops.. we played tag on the rocks and just dinked around like we were freshmen again ;) It was a good day! Then we ran back and did our pickups and hopped in the cars super fast to drive to kneaders for some chunky french toast. Overall it was a pretty great morning :) I even got to take a nap after before doing homework!! I am getting really excited for state next week!

STATE CHAMPS!!!!

What a rush! I honestly didn't have the race I wanted by a long shot. I was pretty disappointed in my individual performance but I was able to contribute to the team and help us earn the girls teams first title ever! Overall, Desert Hills Girls also had the fastest average time of the day which totally helps us out for nxr this year. I am going to learn from this race and go get it at nxr!

AM- A suuuper hard swim practice this morning. Really pushed myself in the pool and then did an hour of really intense core work. I AM SO SORE!

PM- Easy 4 miles + strides with the girls and lady coach. Talked about dating and how sometimes boys are dumb lol. I am going to miss these girls when I graduate!

AM- Threshold practice at swim. I moved up a lane which was a stretch for me. I was soo tired after but I felt really good about the workout.

PM- 3x400s on the track for the team to get ready for footlocker. I am sad I'm not going with the team but I know they will all do amazing. I get to swim this weekend instead. I'm not sure what exactly I'm swimming this weekend but hopefully, I am in shape enough now to be on top of my times from last season.

Also- This is the start of my two-week break so I guess I won't have any mileage on here for a second!

AM- Pretty easy morning practice working on relay starts and dives.

PM- SWIM MEET! Swam the 200 free and I ended up doing a ton better than I thought I would. I still have a long way to go but I am confident that I can drop some time this season.

AM- Swam on 2 of the freestyle relays and swam the 100 too. I did pretty well and it was nice to swim fast!

AM- Swim team. Did about a 4500 and felt pretty good

PM- After work, I went climbing with a ton of people and it was so fun! I haven't been since Sadies so I was definitely a little rusty but I still climbed a 5.10a so I was totally pumped

AM- Swim team with the girls. Did some sprints and kicking and then finished off with some dryland and pull-ups.

PM- Swim team again haha. It was stroke and Kick day so I did a lot of kicking and I finally feel like I'm making progress with that. It was nice to be back at summit again.

Got out of practice and saw that Nathan is missing. He is a great guy- I really hope that they find him.

PM- Rootbeer mile at the high school :) I didn't participate but it was fun to see everyone I haven't seen since we've been on break.

AM- My favorite day of the week! Threshold! I had a super good set!

PM- I didn't go to pm swim because I had a work meeting at 7. I was driving home after and got into a decently bad car accident so that stinks. No one was hurt thank goodness; I'm just a little sore. Let's just say it was an emotional night.

PM- High school meet. We swam both days schedules in one evening so it went super fast and I swam 4 different times. I am just ready to get in more work and be rested for the next high school meet in January. Also, track starts Monday and I couldn't be more excited!

Christmas eve! 6 miles with some pickups in the middle. Ran 5 with Bruce and then took izzy for one more mile. I usually have a hard time running in hatch by myself but today felt so good. I listened to my podcast and ran in the perfect weather with my pup. Did my SAMs after and I can totally tell I'm getting stronger. Pumped for this season to get going!

Holy crap its cold up here. I waited until it was a little warmer to get out and do my run. 28 degrees, wind, snow and 7000 ft elevation made for a fun workout. Pretty sure even my snot was frozen haha. Did 2 mile warmup, fartlek workout and a cooldown. Felt pretty good despite the conditions. I'm just ready to get back to sunny St. George!

5 miles easy around little valley with Bruce. I didn't get home in time to run with the girls which was a bummer but it was beautiful outside so it was so worth it.

Went to swim after and died. The set was super hard but it was what I needed to get back in gear after the holidays. I saw molly after too and I haven't seen her in so long! Love her so much!

Amazing 6 miles on prospector this morning. This is probably my favorite place to run here In St George. I felt so good and was pushing the pace the whole run. I am so so ready for workouts to start back up. Got a family party later and then a gift exchange with lil!

I spent today swimming, running, and being with family and friends. It was the best way to end 2018!

AM- swim for Susa. Did a solid 7k with 2200 at threshold pace. I felt so good! I'm really excited for our invitational this weekend!I swam in the top lane with Payton and Caitlyn and it was awesome. I am proud of how I performed this workout.

Track- we had a fartlek workout this morning and we went up into Warner valley. There was actual snow on the ground! The workout was awesome. I felt amazing and had a good mental mindset when I started hurting. It was such an awesome day for me overall.

Finished the day hanging out with the xc kids doing polar plunges into parkers pool lol. I seriously have the best friends!

So stoked for 2019 and everything it will bring!
